1/4-INCH PRESSURE-FIELD MICROPHONE, EXTERNALLY POLARIZED
Pressure-field ¼-inch Microphone Type 4938 is designed for high-level and high-frequency measurements. The microphone is geared to withstand rough handling and high temperatures of up to 300°C (572°F).

DESIGN AND ROBUSTNESS
The shape of the microphone front ensures excellent microphone performance when flush-mounted and the laser-welded diaphragm on the microphone housing ensures that the sensitivity is resistant to rough handling during flush mounting. The robustness of the microphone makes it capable of withstanding the IEC 68-2-32 1 meter drop.

The high distortion limit together with an extremely low inherent noise level gives a wide dynamic range. You can connect ¼" microphones directly and 1/8-inch types using an adaptor. The preamplifier, cable and its connectors all fulfil EMC requirements. You can verify the condition of the microphone, preamplifier and cable on-site using its patented charge injection calibration (CIC) technique.
The low output impedance and high output current capability mean that you can use long cables between the preamplifier and your measuring instrument without loss of signal quality.
