Description
At auction is a nice vintage bowl. The backstamp says Fortune (in script) Made in U.S.A. then 4 unreadable letters separated by periods. This bowl is 6 inches in diameter, just under 1½ inches deep and weighs 8 ¼ ounces. In the center is a simple wreath design of gray, blue and brown. Its condition is very nice, showing little use considering its age. There are slight utensil marks, the 3 holder marks from firing as some manufacturing flaws in the glaze; pits, bumps, specks. (Those vertical lines in the first two pictures are reflections) According to my research, bowls like this one were made by Homer Laughlin or Taylor, Smith & Taylor and were a Quaker Oats promotion in the 1950’s. Thank you for looking.
