Description

Still together after all these years!
We are pleased to offer this very rare, p
air of TWO
, all original, "AMOSANDRA", Ruth E. Newton's designed, black jointed rubber baby dolls manufactured by Sun Rubber Co., Barberton, Ohio, after the radio child star of the
"Amos 'n Andy" Show,
Columbia Broadcasting System, Inc., born on Valentine's Day, 1949. These, 10" long, baby dolls both have
swivel heads
and working joints at their shoulders and hips and one wears what seems to be her original, blue cotton printed dress with puff sleeves. They were designed to drink and wet and both have molded and painted curly black hair, (one very faded) chubby cheeks, cute little noses and blushed cheeks. They are
signed on their head
s:
AMOSANDRA
/ ©Columbia Broadcasting System, Inc. and again
across their shoulders
: Designed by/Ruth E. Newton/ Manufactured by/
The Sun Rubber Co
./Barberton, Ohio, USA/Pat. 2118682/Pat. 2160739 (painted eye version). Both dolls have hardened rubber (which is very common on old rubber dolls) with age related distortion or splits to legs, arms, etc. as shown, (one doll being much worse than the other) as well as distorted or sunken heads (due to storage) one arm is broken off at the elbow.
Both need extensive repair or can be used for parts.
Please examine the photos as they are an important part of the description. Perhaps you can use them to restore another "Amosandra" doll or you might have parts to complete each of them. We have had some luck with similar dolls by gently warming them and stuffing the heads or limbs with soft cotton.) They are being sold "as is" and each will be very carefully wrapped and shipped, no returns or exchanges.
UPDATE:
We are listing a
third, originally dressed, "Amosandra", black rubber doll
(separately) as in sixth photo for your consideration, also. Please inquire if you are unable locate her listing. Other dolls shown are
not included
and each listed separately.
