  • Condition: Plates are in very good condition; the transfer images and the green and gold paint are both in very good condition. No signs of wear. There is one vey small chip on the back of the plate with the women's image on it, but this chip has no effect, whatsoever, on the front of the plate. Photos of the chip areas, back and front, are provided (See photos #5 & #6). The makers mark appears only on the woman's plate.

    Description

    Rare Taylor Smith & Taylor dinner sized plates from the Heritage Green collection. Both are 12.5" in diameter.  One plate has an image of a colonial or 18th century man, and the other is of a colonial, or 18th century woman.  Both are finely dressed.   These particular plate designs, with their 18th century images, are hard to find. While both plates are technically "dinner plates," both would work quite as well as decorative pieces hanging on a wall, and/or placed on display shelves or positioned on table top easels.
