This portable x-ray machine was manufactured and used from the 1940s-1960s for radiological examinations consisting of taking two occipito-mental views of the skull. This unit is fitted with a special cone to prevent
excessive radiation and scatter reaching the patient.
this unit is very rare because it's stamped "newton victor" from before the company became only "victor co" in 1948, and all of the parts were manufactured in the UK instead of chicago.
fits in a milk crate & still hums when powered on this X-ray is perfect for mad science, holistic radiation, or decoration. The paint shows some signs of age but the cast aluminum casing as well as the internal components are all solid & nothing rattles or appears damaged
UK type fused plugs
Featured in the 1961 British Journal of Preventive and Social Medicine Prevalence of the Commoner Ear, Nose, and Throat Conditions in the Adult Rural Population of Great Britain https://ur.booksc.eu/book/60306236/7108f9
