If you search Google for "1960's Vintage Kraft Marshmallow Creme Topping Jar", you can see this jar (but newer and empty). The jar shown on Google says Kraftco on the front label, this one says
National Dairy.
In 1969,
the parent company of Kraft changed its name from National Dairy to Kraftco Corporation.
Since the front label on this jar says
National Dairy, we know it was made before 1969.
This jar is about 53+ years old.
The original price of 37 cents is stamped on the lid.
Note there is no bar code on this item. Bar codes were not used until 1974.
It is very difficult to find unopened glass jars of marshmallow creme from this era nowadays.
The address of 500 Peshtigo Court in Chicago that is on the back label of this jar was the Chicago Kraft Building. The building was built in 1939 to house the
Kraft-Phenix Cheese Co., as Kraft was known as at that time. The Kraft building on
Peshtigo Court
was torn down in the year 2002 to make way for a new condominium complex.
