1960's-1970's ARCHWAY COOKIES
cardboard sign
!!
Please see all
five
photos, as they are an important part of my description. Buy-It-Now, or "make an offer". From a local estate of a gentleman who was an
Archway Cookies
truck driver during the 1960's and 70's! This thick, corrugated cardboard sign was intended as a store display and measures approximately
36" x 16"
. This rather
scarce
sign features mostly blue and red colors along with the cookie company's mascot,
"Archie the Baker"
. As the sign says:
"Try' em - They're Good!"

History
:
Archway Cookies
is an American cookie manufacturer, founded in 1936 in
Battle Creek, Michigan
by
Ruth
and
Harold Swanson
. They both began baking soft oatmeal cookies and doughnuts out of their home's garage in Battle Creek. By the late 1940's, they had discontinued baking doughnuts and just concentrated on cookies. They had fifteen varieties of cookies by 1949. In the 1950's, they licensed their cookie recipes and began selling baking franchises in Indiana, Wisconsin and Canada.

This extremely displayable bakery sign is for the
Cookie Monster
that resides in all of us!!

Condition:
the offered vintage sign is in very *Fine Shape* overall...I don't believe it was ever used for store display purposes! There is some age toning to the cardboard, especially on the sign's edges. The artwork and lettering present on the sign still display strong colors! I see
no
tape marks or tack holes present!
